Mandatory Reporting Laws Violation – High School Principal Arrested
The principal of Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greg Anderson, 44, has been arrested for mandatory reporting laws violation from his failure to report incidents where a teacher at the school was behaving inappropriately with students. A teacher or teaching professional’s job requirements include reporting any threats to student safety, including inappropriate contact. However, Mr. Anderson, in his role at the Riverside County High School in Eastvale, failed his duties to abide by mandatory reporting laws.
Prevalence of Adult Sexual Misconduct in Public Schools and Mandatory Reporting Laws

Mandated Reporting Laws and Sexual Abuse at Eleanor Roosevelt High School
The Riverside County Sherriff’s Office explained that an investigation was initially conducted in April of 2023 at Eleanor Roosevelt High School due to allegations that a teacher was engaging in misconduct with students. As a result, Chase Costello, 44, of Anaheim, who taught at the school, was arrested for child annoyance and sexual battery. Additionally, the school placed Costello on administrative leave.
As a part of the investigation, officials looked into if mandatory reporting laws were followed. They found that the principal, Greg Anderson, did not follow the laws and report the incidents as he was required to do. The Riverside Sheriff has informed the public that they should contact the sheriff’s office to report any information they may have about incidents of inappropriate conduct by Chad Costello with students.
