San Diego driving instructor arrested after allegedly molesting students. Richard “Joseph” Banks, 50, of Escondido, is a driving instructor who was arrested and booked into jail for several counts of child sexual abuse. According to the San Diego Police, Banks is suspected of not only molesting students but also secretly filming them. In specific, his charges include:

- Sexual battery
- Possession of child pornography
- Production of child pornography
- Installation and use of a surreptitious recording device

Allegedly Molesting Students
The alleged sexual assaults / molesting students committed upon victims by Richard “Joeseph” Banks are said to have happened during driving lessons. At this time, Banks was also secretly recording his victims. As a result, he is facing a multitude of sex crime counts, seven of which are felony charges.
The alleged sexual assault crimes on minors were said to have happened while Banks was employed as an instructor at American Driving School based in El Cajon.
All of the alleged molestation victims were students enrolled in driving courses and are said to be teenage females. According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), as many as a dozen victims under the age of 18 were identified. Although, police believe that there are many more victims than those identified, potentially several dozen.
After the arrest of Richard Banks, American Driving School released a statement. The owner of ADS, Daniel Tackett, indicated that Banks was canceled as a teacher at the institution.
