Child Molestation Conviction for Self-Proclaimed Manny Cared for Young Boys
Zakrzewski called himself a “manny,” a male nanny and advertised as a sitter who would provide kids with a “fun buddy experience” while in his care. He worked for a variety of families in Laguna Beach and nearby communities from 2019 until his arrest in May 2019. According to reports, Zakrzewski had a website for his sitting services where he called himself “the original Sitter Buddy.” He advertised a variety of services, such as babysitting, including for overnights and vacations, as well as mentorships. Zakrzewski is currently 34 years old.
Found Guilty of 34 Child Sexual Abuse Felonies
Zakrzewski was found guilty in October of 34 felony counts that included lewd and lascivious acts with a minor by molesting 16 young boys and a count of showing pornography to a child, for a total of 17 victims. The victims were all boys ranging in age from 2 to 12 years old. The Laguna Beach Police Department’s Major Crimes & Intelligence Unit conducted an investigation after they received a report from a parent for inappropriately touching their 8-year-old son. They ultimately found additional victims located in the southern California area.
Zakrzewski Allegedly Groomed Young Victims
Parents of victims were allowed to make impact statements prior to the sentencing of Zakrzewski. Parents were undoubtedly quite upset by the actions that took the innocence of their young boys. At least one parent reported that the perpetrator groomed and manipulated the boys prior to molesting them. In one instance, Zakrzewski taught a young boy of 2 years old to keep secrets prior to molesting him. In some cases, the manny provided services for a year or more, allowing for continued molestation to occur.
Child Molestation Conviction – Zakrzewski Did Not Apologize
At his child molestation conviction sentencing hearing, Zakrzewski did not offer an apology to the parents or victims. Instead, he gave a court statement where he said, “I prided myself on bringing smiles to your children, and all the good times we shared were 100 percent genuine”. The prosecutor stated, “This is a case of shattered innocence and precious childhoods that were robbed from 17 little boys”. According to the prosecutor, Zakrzewski had extensive pedophilia on his computer and had videotapes of many of the incidents of molestation.
